Ethics in Aviation

 Ethics in Aviation

 by Juvan Rabago

In this blog I am going to talk about Lieutenant Commander Jonny Kim, former Navy SEAL, Naval Aviator, Naval Surgeon, Harvard Educated Doctor and NASA astronaut.

 Jonny Kim in August 2017

He served as the International Space Station's Increment Lead for Expedition 65 in 2021 and currently supports crew operations.
Kim completed his studies at Harvard in 2016, followed by a year who beat over 18,000 applicants to be a part of the 12 new astronauts making up "NASA Astronaut Group 22." In 2020, he was appointed as part of Artemis Team 1, the group that will form the crew of Artemis III, which became the first manned mission to the moon since Apollo 17 in 1972. The Artemis program is viewed as a stepping-stone toward future crewed missions to Mars, to take place in the 2030s.
As Kim returned to NASA to prepare for his first space mission, he reflected on his family and how they supported him to accomplish so much that enabled Kim leading up to this point: "Oftentimes when you see people accomplishing things, you don't see the support network behind them." Kim praised his wife and children for "always being there for him and putting up with Kim through the long nights and weekends as the many mornings I couldn't be present to take them to school or do any of the fatherly things that many of their friends get to experience."
In this current event, I will reflect on myself as a failed version of Jonny's experience. Even though I have not done anything as accomplished as Kim regarding his accomplishments in Aviation, I will transfer and share my drive for Ethical traits. I believe Ethics is undefinable unless you experience it and you've been into something and sometimes need the ability to stick to a plan and not quit.

In this blog, Jonny Kim is a significant example of having ethical traits in the aviation field. And speaking of Aviation, you quickly realize that you will be constantly exposed to an ever-growing collection of absurd compound words that seemingly exist to troll you.
